Driving Miss Daisy...or in this case Kids

As a parent we put hundreds of thousands of kilometers on our vehicles just chauffering our kids around. And we think...I can't wait until they start driving themselves. But what about that? What about everything that comes with that?
I am at the point in my life where my kids will be driving soon. In fact they could already be driving....but....
I'm not sure about all of you but I can't afford for my kids to drive. I have one vehicle that is our main one and it's not exactly the newest model. Our second vehicle is falling apart. So we currently have no vehicle options and if I can't afford a vehicle for myself then how can I afford one for my kids.
And that's not to mention the insurance and the crazy people on the road now.
It really is a parent's nightmare, having your kids grow up.

A Sad Day

The sun was shining today for the first time in a while but I attended the funeral of a friend so it seemed a little gloomy.
When someone passes away at a young age, it just doesn't seem real. And it makes you question what you are doing with your life. That's exactly what has happened to me.
I have realized in the last two weeks that I don't spend enough time with my friends and my family. Everything else always seems so much more important or I'm just tired. But I am realizing that I don't want to have regrets... I don't want to think, when someone passes away... why didn't I see them more often? I want to be able to say that I think I was a good friend and I enjoyed the time that I spent with them.
Funerals make you consider a lot of things.... and maybe it shouldn't take a funeral to make you realize what's important.

Customer Service

Hey there Bloggers!
Working in the position that I do, I believe that customer service is HUGE. I can't say it enough. But sometimes it seems very lacking in a lot of businesses. Especially in big box stores.
Well I want to share the best customer service experience I have had in a very long time...
I got a call yesterday at work from a co-worker who knew that I was looking for a Silhouette Cameo cutting machine. She called to tell me that Michael's had them on sale but the sale ended yesterday. Unfortunately she said that none of the local stores had them in stock.
So after work I traveled to the closest store to see if I could get a raincheck, pay for it and receive it when it comes in, or something...
Well apparently Michael's no longer offers rainchecks. However David, the assistant manager, said that he would do whatever it takes to get me my Cameo and at the sale price too. As it turned out, there was one more machine and another store. David offered to drive there himself and get the machine for me and if turned out that store didn't have it, there was one at a store on the other side of the city that he would drive to on the weekend and get it for me. Plus I would get the sale price.
This morning I got a call from David that he had gone later last night and retrieved my machine for me.
this gentleman didn't know me and was under no obligation to go to that much trouble. But he did.. And he and his store have earned a customer for life. I appreciate what he did for me and I would recommend his store to anyone.
So if you are in the area say hi to David at the Country Hills Michael's store.

Welcome to my world!

Hey there Bloggers! And welcome to my new blog. This blog is place for me to share life, what I'm learning, raising teens, and whatever interests me.

So let me start by telling you a little about me....
I am a mom to two teens, and wife to the most wonderful husband. I work as an administrator for a scrapbooking wholesale company and I am also an independent demonstrator for Stampin' Up! I have a dog, Scooby and a cat, Oreo.

So today I will just share a recipe with you that we had for supper tonight...
It is a maple roasted pork roast. And I found the recipe on All Recipes. Click on the image below to link to the recipe.
It turned out really well with roasted potatoes and corn.
